--<{Valdici vs. Romulus: Year 2, Game 2}>--

<------[--\-/--]------>

Newayz. Romulus was all psyched to play on Low resources because he had just recently printed out the "How to play on Low resources" from Shaf's amazing war2 page.

I started at 9:30.

Everything went quite well... building orders were fine, no peons were getting stuck at all... Hmm.. I remember building a wallin cannon early on, and 2 barracks. I had about 6 or so guys. Checked for his base... Lucky for me he was on the right side of the map, at 3:30.

He had a bunch of grunts, and a couple of wallin guard towers.

Ok, time to start the assault. In goes 7 footmen, level 4, against 8 grunts i think, and 2 guard towers. I managed to get 3 of his peons before I was beaten back from his base. Tee hee.

His counterattack comes, 5 grunts.... blindly rushed my waLLin cannon... he looked around for an entrance to my mining facilities... Aha! But to no avail.

I had my peasants all walled in with farms... hee hee... and so he was forced to retreat.

Upgrade, get some colonizing going in at 8:30.... Knights level 5....

I notice his colony at 2:30, but by the time I destroy it he has mined the darn thing out.=(...whatever.

I colonize the top left, He goes for me periodically with bunches of ogres. He colonizes the bottom right. I go for him from time to time with Knights. Then I think,"Gee, maybe I should Demo Squad him....=).

Oh, And I so do.

BOOMS!! his colony down by blizzard and demo squads. I have my mine mined out again, and I go for the botttom left. Uhh.. As soon as I have my Town Hall up, he comes in, all bloodlusted and kicks me out. Ouch.

I annihilate his forces much too late to do my poor peasants any good...And he then attempts to build a hall in the bottom left..... talk about annoying... gotta kick him out again.... demo demo demo. He's pissed now, both of us have no active gold mines right now... I'm low on gold, I'm guessing he is too...

Then it comes. Oh yes. His 'reserve' forces of 24 ogre-magi run up to my base, kill up all my knights, kill all my darn mages..and D&Ded my base.

But I destroyed all his forces as well...mages are nice...

And I took refuge in the top right hand corner... and before my Castle died I built a mage tower there...=) And I had a hall going there...

Romulus thought I was dead.... and he thought that I had only 2 mages left invisible most of the time, blizzarding the HELL out of his mining peons in the middle. He had one mine open in the middle, and I found out later that, whenever I blizzarded his peons, he had only 400 gold left in his resources thingy. Of course, I did not know that at the time...I was stressing out, I thought he was gonna send squads of guys up to my base....

It was pretty strong by then, though, I had walled my peasants in, and put a mage behind the farm wall. By the time he found out and sent his meager force of 7 ogres (because of no cash)... I had 3 barracks pumping footmen at the speed of sound, whatever.

And a lot of mages... heehee... beat him DOWN.

Then I sent 16 footmens to finish off his peons, and my mages to take his base out.

whooh. Close match.

dot dot dot... There were times when I could have taken him out if I had sent my guyz over to his base, and the same with Romulus too.

I was SO incredibly vulnerable in my top right corner colony for SUCH a long time, but then again, so was he.

I think we almost had a draw game, like...all our guyz dead.. and if we sent peons at each other we would have ... uhhh... towers?! at opposite ends of the map. I was lucky to win this one. The Stats for the battle.

yea. Whatever. Valdici and Romulus shall fight again...
