--<{Valdici vs. Romulus: Year 2, Game 1}>--
<------[--\-/--]------>
The reason why I jump to this battle is because most of the battles I fought with Romulus last year ended up around the same as the first game. Over the summer, Romulus improved drastically (for some reason I do not know, since he did not play one single game of War2 then.) Our first game together was against computers. And we so totally trashed them. 2 weeks into the start of our 'educational life' (tee hee) we loaded up on Jolt Colas from the mall. ;)
I was like,"So, since we have a nice Saturday Night all laid out perfectly in front of us......"
"Lets play War2."
"My thoughts exactly."
tee hee hee.
Scenario: Hidden King of The Hill (King.pud)
Resources: High
Computers: No.
Fog: On
Units: One Peon Only.
I must tell you that after a year of playing madly psychotic games on the internet with people like Vento and MG (One can find them both in HKstar on kali.) my skills improved. As I said earlier, Vento is like my War2 teacher. He can still kick my butt around the corner... (Although I haven't played a game with him recently.... Apparently he's got too much work in med. school...Yeh, while I'm over here being lazy and playing War2.... whatevera:)
This was a really good game.
We were all set to go. 12:22 am..... it's all good. Uh huh. I choose to use humans... and he uses Orcs. Yeh, he's learned everything there is to know about this game now.
He thinks that I'm going to kick his ass like last year. I do everything I'm supposed to do, farm, farm, barracks... you know...
As soon as I get 6 footmen, lvl 3, I run around madly looking for his base. He's on the same side of the map as I am! My guys suddenly run into an intricate DEATH TRAP of wallin cannons and guard towers... Crazy!.... I go to retreat, re-group, colonixe, build more guys, upgrade, build defenses....
As I fly my fliers around, I see that he has taken the middle gold mine. And he has not defended it well yet... hee hee hee. Ho Ho ho. 9 knights, go.
Killing his peons left and right, but I have dispatched 1/3 of my army to kill the colony, meanwhile he D&D's my colony in the middle bottom, and my 18 defending knights, stupidly charge it.
Sure. The Death Knight dies, but about 7 knights are exchanged in the process. I just prevented a castastrophe, but while I was defending my base, he kicked my guys out of his middle gold.
At this point I decide that this is gonna be an extremely LONG game.
The small melees go on for a while, attack, counterattack, excorcise, death coil, D&D, invisible mage blizzard, bloodlust assault, etc....
During this time I had built my shipyard and transports, and had colonized the upper middle gold mine. Of course, being Romulus and all, he had done the same thing to the upper left gold.
dammit!.... I had no barracks over there... so I built like 2 mage towers and started to use them, with great effect, on his gold mining peons. Somehow it never occured to me that he would *attack* my colony. Hmm. 30 peasants mining away, and 12 mages or so. No Paladins, no towers, no barracks, no footmen.
Lemme think for a while. Obviously he noticed that weakness!!....
So 2 minutes later he comes along with 12 nice, fat, bloodlusted ogres, and 7 dragons. Totally Wrecks me. Great. I'm off the top continent.
But I had 3 invisible mages in his main base!! I got a good amount of razings before he noticed where the attacks were coming from.
Meanwhile, my attempts to colonize fail again and again.
And my gold mines are all mined out. Um... $h!t.. I had like 21000 gold, so I was like... I'd better resist him until the end.... whateverz....
He came with dragons. And with one mage I killed 9 of them. But it didn't matter anymore. He overwhelmed me totally. I think that he built around 30 dragons, and 30 death knights, and 30 ogre-magi.... And I just did not have the sheer resources to slaughter them all..
So he took me out badly at the end.
And we looked at the clock. And the clock said: 3:11am. Uh... then we finished our Jolt Colas, and went to bed, our energies spent fully.
So endeth the first battle of the second year between Valdici and Romulus. The Stats for the battle.
